Development Update – April 2025
- Surveying and monitoring activities are ongoing, with Hawaii Marine Animal Response (HMAR) conducting shoreline monitoring seven days a week and AECOS performing monthly site visits to ensure the construction site remains compliant with safety and environmental protection standards
- Yellow-faced bee surveys continue in the RR3 work area, shoreline, and adjacent habitats. No native, yellow-faced bees were detected during the most recent survey on April 18, but our entomologist will maintain regular survey intervals. We ensure that surveys are timed to coincide with favorable weather and seasonal flowering of potential habitat plants, such as the currently blooming beach heliotropes, to maximize detection opportunities
- Test piers were completed on April 7th
- Brett Hill is conducting test piling from April 17-21 with foundational work to follow
- Hui Ku Maoli Ola is continuing invasive tree removal on the property
